Totem Ridge Vineyard is located in Southern Knights Valley high up on the Mayacama Range. There are 7 different blocks of Cabernet, all on different exposures and elevations. The vineyard is named for the totems carved out of the redwoods scattered throughout the property. The artist is unknown but the carvings are all dated between 1904 and 1912.
The 2016 vintage offered excellent growing conditions. A mild winter and spring with gentle rainfall contributed to early ripening, low to moderate yields, and highly concentrated grapes. The result is exceptional quality.
"Ripe blackberry aromas, notes of cigar box and a burst of cola. Elegant tannins and balanced acidity support a full and firm structure. The round, juicy finish is long and seamless showcased by cedar spice, bing cherry and loamy earth."
